Announcing Oru

I’m excited to announce Oru (pronounced or-roo), the easiest way for anybody to host their own paid job board. The idea behind Oru is simple, in the current digital age, there are a lot of various communities across the internet, whether it’s from a blog, newsletter, Discord community, or even open-source libraries. Oru aims to make it easy for the owners/managers of these communities to connect their members with jobs that may be interesting to them, while getting paid to do so.

How does it work?

Getting started with Oru is simple. You simply register for an account, create an organization and job board, connect your Stripe account (if you want companies to pay to post jobs), and you’re ready to go!

Does it cost money?

Nope! Oru does not require a credit card or payment in order for you to start making money. In order to cover our bills, we take a percentage of every single paid job posting, but you keep the majority of the cash. If you’re a power-user for your job board and want more advanced features, we also have Oru Pro that allows for more customization, analytics, and features for making running your job board even better. Check out our pricing page for more details!

What does “Oru” mean anyways?

The name Oru came to me from the Igbo word ọrụ, which translates to work or job in English. Given how simple, clean, and relevant of a name it was, I decided to roll with it!

Let us know what you think!

I’m excited for you to try out Oru! Looking forward to hearing what you think, and if you need any assistance, don’t hesitate to email us!
